The core is split by laying it lengthwise on the vee block and lowering the knife by rotating the hand wheel. When the knife is in firm contact with the core, a sharp blow with a hammer on the rod cap will cleanly split the core. Note: Does not come with hardware to mount to a table. Splitter is
