(Near Dorking) By Motor Bus Exhibition is typical of Eckersley’s workOriginal London Underground poster, near Dorking, by one of Twentieth Century Posters favourite designers, F. Gregory Brown, 1922. The poster promotes London Undergrounds bus fleet, known as the General Omnibus Company (hence the General logo, bottom right). The depicted location is almost certainly Box Hill, near Dorking, Surrey. Brown was one of the great poster pioneers of his generation. You can read more about this extraordinary designer here. A
